Here’s the story behind these cookies, I work with the young women in my church specifically the 14 to 16 year old’s. Every year we go to a girls only camp. It’s a blast. I used to go when I was a teenager and loved it. I can’t wait to go this year! They do one fundraiser a year to make camp affordable to everyone. When I was a kid it was car washes now we have people in our neighborhood sign up for the youth of our church to put flags in their yards on patriotic holidays. Yesterday was Memorial Day and my turn to help put the flags up and take them down. It’s a great fundraiser, I love it! One day a year each girl has to put flags up and take them down and another day we go around asking for people to sign up or renew their contract with us. It provides a service to the community that helps everyone feel a great appreciation for our nation.
Since yesterday was my day I decided to bring cookies for the girls, I mean we had teenagers waking up at 7 am on a day off! They took about 2 hours out of their lives to help. I love our teenagers! These cookies were yummy and super easy.
