This is has to be one of my all time favorite chicken recipes, ever. It’s amazing. Perfect chicken with just a little kick. Legs are my favorite type of chicken, I love dark meat. That’s the first thing I go for on a turkey. My husband however is a white meat kind of guy. I’m not sure why, clearly dark is superior. 😉 So, if you’re like my husband and love white meat you’re welcome to do this recipe with a chicken breast. I didn’t find the recipe quite as good but then I’m clearly biased.
Another reason this recipe is so great, it’s fast! Half hour and you’re done!
ASIAN HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN
4 drumsticks (or 2 chicken breasts if desired)
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 cup water
1/2 tablespoon sriracha (add more or less depending on preference)
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons honey
1 1/2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon sesame seed
Cook drumsticks in olive oil until brown. Combine water, siracha, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Pour over browned chicken and cover for 20 minutes over medium heat. Remove lid and continue cooking for 8-10 minutes, this will help thicken the glaze.
Once chicken is done spread sesame seeds on top.
