Chocolate Turtle Cake

This little diddy was for my husband’s birthday. He usually goes for chocolate and peanut butter but he went out to the store and bought all the ingredients for a chocolate turtle cake. I love caramel so this cake was right up my alley. It tasted as good as it looks. Did I mention there is also a brownie in there? Surprise!

This is the bottom layer of the epic 4 layers. Just a regular chocolate cake.

Frost with some delectable caramel frosting and some nuts. I used walnuts but typically turtle is pecan. I leave it up to you which nut to use. Top with another chocolate cake and frost.

Then put on some Heath bar broken. Can you feel the calories just compounding?

I didn’t take a picture of this but then I put on a turtle brownie and frosted it and put on the Heath bar and the nuts. Then I put on another layer of chocolate cake.

Here it is all done. A few Rollo’s on top and around the bottom. Then some caramel drizzled over top.

1 chocolate cake box and the ingredients to make it from the box.


1 box turtle brownie. Leave the caramel sauce for over the cake.


1/2 cup butter

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1/4 cup milk

16 oz. powder sugar (1lb.)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil, and put in a mixing bowl. Add powder sugar and vanilla. Beat with a mixer until it reaches a spreading consistency. More milk may be needed to reach the consistency you want. Add milk a teaspoon at a time.
