Baby Blessing

We recently had our third baby girl. Three girls! We had her baby blessing last Sunday at my parents house. We would have had it at ours but it’s to small for the amount of people we were having. That is what the decorations looked like. I’m shocked my mom let me hang these from the ceiling. I made the dots for my daughters birthday party but ended up going super low key for her birthday and didn’t end up using them. I’m going to use them for my nephews birthday at the end of the month. I made the pink circles to come off while I made the brown and gray circles so they were permanent. I like making things multipurpose. Saves time, money, and effort. The white pom pom’s are also going to be used for my nephews birthday. The pink ones are going to be hung in my girls room for a while. They are such a great decoration and they are super cheap. Dollar store tissue paper cut in half so they would be smaller.

For the lunch we had a pasta and a salad bar. I didn’t take pictures of everything because I had to feed the baby. When I first started thinking about doing a pasta bar I didn’t know how I was going to make the pasta not stick. I went to one pasta bar where the pasta ended up being a huge bowl of stuck pasta. I looked around at other blogs that had pasta bars and they didn’t really give me any ideas. One had the pasta so that you picked out your pasta and toppings then boiled the pasta. That was a great idea but really not practical in my situation, too many people. Another one had the pasta on hot plates, I don’t have hot plates. (and I was too cheap to buy them for one party) My solution, oil. Cook the pasta and then add a little oil to it, toss the pasta around. The oil keeps the pasta from sticking. Perfect solution! The pasta didn’t stick to itself and I didn’t need to spend a lot of money.

Here’s a list of the food we had.

For pasta we had spaghetti and bow tie.

For the sauce we had marinara, cheese, and Alfredo.

cheddar cheese

Parmesan cheese

olives

tomatoes

onions

peppers

sunflower seeds

beets

pickles

french bread

chicken

meatballs (I would have had them except I couldn’t find any meatballs in the store and I was too lazy to make them)

mushrooms

kidney beans

I put the sauces in a roaster that has three sections. I kept it on warm so the sauces would be nice and toasty when you put it on the noodles.

For dessert I made twix cupcakes, Carmelita’s (well my sister made those), brownie cupcakes, and cherry Garcia cheesecake.
